ICGOW 2020

Culture in all aspects of social life is the main attraction for the development of a region. This culture can also be reflected in natural formations modified by humans such as garden in the broadest meaning. The garden has and continues to evolve as a form of adaptation to its environment. The study of the garden in the past, present and future in all aspects needs to be carried out not only for science but also to maintain the sustainability of the garden and the factors that play a role in it, include living things and their nature.

Landscape Architecture (LA) Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University is the only study program in Bali that is specialized in learning about landscapes. One of the missions of this study program is to become the center of traditional landscape studies. conference is a choice of ways that can be used to realize the mission.

Therefore, the LA study program took the initiative to hold an International Conference of Garden of the World which is planned to be held every 5 years. The first ICGoW will take the theme: Garden in Tradition. This conference is also supported through collaboration by Bogor Agricultural University, Indonesia Landscape Architect Association, National Institute of Science and Technology Jakarta.

This conference aims to accommodate a meeting of academics, policy makers, actors, users, associations and local community related to the field of landscape architecture in a meeting with several educational and professional related activities. ICGoW is expected to be a safe and comfortable place to exchange information and innovative knowledge in order to maintain the sustainability of the garden in the broadest meaning.

 

 

Purpose :

1. Organize a series of ICGoW
2. Facilitating meetings of academics, policy makers, actors, users and associates regarding the field of landscape architecture
3. Publish papers presented in ICGoW on the scopus indexed proceedings
